Watch Emily’s Story
In this video, Emily McCloud talks about how she found the community, mentorship, and creative experiences at ºÚÁÏÉçÇø that equipped her to fulfill her God-sized dream of teaching art and guiding students to grow in both craft and character.
Highlights of Emily’s Story
Emily McCloud came to ºÚÁÏÉçÇø seeking a close-knit Christian community where she would be known, valued, and encouraged. As a Studio Art major with a minor in Education, she found professors who truly invested in her growth—academically, creatively, and spiritually.
Throughout her time at ºÚÁÏÉçÇø, Emily embraced leadership as President of the Art Club, helping organize experiences that expanded artistic perspective and community engagement. One of the most transformative opportunities was planning and participating in a study abroad trip to Paris, where she explored world-renowned museums and studied masterworks firsthand. Seeing the art she had learned about in class come to life deepened her inspiration and artistic vision.
Emily has always had a passion for art, but at ºÚÁÏÉçÇø she discovered her deeper calling: to become an art teacher. She believes art can be therapeutic and transformative for students, offering them a creative outlet and space to grow as individuals. Through chapel services and faith-integrated classroom projects, Emily strengthened her spiritual foundation alongside her artistic development.
Today, she is grateful to be teaching at a private Christian academy, living out her . She credits ºÚÁÏÉçÇø for equipping her with both the artistic skills and spiritual confidence needed to inspire the next generation.
